Environmental Policies
The KODO Group aims for the realization of a sustainable society through a circular business model of selling non-ferrous metal products and collecting and sorting non-ferrous metal scrap as resources. Specifically, we take the following measures.
- Enhancing Circular Business Model
- We are engaged in efficient use of resources and reduction of environmental impact through a circular business model. We will continue to enhance the model in the future, reduce environmental load throughout the supply chain, and promote sustainable resource management.
- Enhancing Energy Efficiency and Reducing CO2 Emissions
- We are working to enhance the efficiency of our energy consumption in business activities and reduce CO2 emissions. We are also promoting the installation of energy-efficient equipment and the use of renewable energy in our recycling processes and logistics.
- Compliance with Environmental Laws and Regulations
- We comply with all environmental laws and regulations and shall continue to conduct responsible business management and protect the environment in accordance with said laws and regulations.
Labor and Human Rights Policies
The KODO Group aims to achieve a working environment where all our employees feel safe and secure and can fully demonstrate their abilities. To that end, we act in accordance with the following policies.
- Respect Diversity and Facilitate Mutual Understanding
- We respect all our employees with diverse values and backgrounds, regardless of gender, race, nationality, age, or disability. To that end, we promote a working environment where each employee can make the most of their individuality. We take employee opinions and ideas seriously and aim to foster a culture of mutual respect.

- We have created an working environment that allows our employees to demonstrate their creativity to the greatest extent. Together with promoting flexible workstyles, we are promoting an environment that balances the diversification of workstyles and increased productivity so that our employees can choose the best work style that suits their own lifestyles and work duties.
- Respect for Human Rights and Ensuring a Safe and Secure Working Environment
- We respect the human rights of all employees and will eliminate any discrimination or forced labor. We work to prevent harassment and wrongful treatment to ensure a safe and comfortable working environment.

- We promote initiatives to support employees’ skill improvements and career development. The KODO Group has created an environment that allows for long-term growth by providing training and career support opportunities and establishing a fair and transparent human resources process where all employees are evaluated fairly based on objective and well-supported data.
- Elimination of Harassment and Discrimination
- We provide all our employees with a fair and equal environment in order to realize a workplace where harassment and discrimination are not tolerated. Strict responses are taken for wrongful treatment and acts of discrimination, thereby ensuring a safe working environment for all our employees.

The KODO Group maintains high ethical standards in all our business activities and fulfills our social responsibilities in accordance with the guiding principles below.
- Elimination of Misconduct
- We actualize a workplace where no misconduct or illegal actions occur—we have developed an ethical code of conduct and promote company-wide ethics education. We take appropriate measures against misconduct and aim to enhance a system that prevents risk.
- Ensuring Transparency
- We ensure transparency in decision-making and processes in business activities and accurately and honestly disclose information to our stakeholders. In addition, we ensure that all employees keep transparency in mind as they conduct business operations appropriately.
- Avoidance of Conflicts of Interest
- All employees and management will ensure that any personal interests will not influence those of the company by avoiding all conflicts of interest and making fair decisions.
- Promotion of Fair Competition
- We promote free and fair competition and participate in fair market competition in compliance with laws and regulations. We eliminate unfair competitive practices and exclusive transactional practices.
- Promotion of Sustainable Business Partnerships
- We aim to build a sustainable supply chain by selecting suppliers based on long-term partnerships, consideration for working environments and human rights, and promotion of fair and transparent business transactions.
- Prevention of Bribery
- We explicitly prohibit all forms of bribery for unfair gain and maintain fairness in our business activities. We conduct honest business activities, eliminating the providing, receiving, or requesting of wrongful benefits.
